1. How to register, access and manage your Beta Pesa account

1.1 Account registration

If you want to use the products/services on the Beta Pesa platform, you first need to register a Beta Pesa account. To create an account, we need to collect your mobile phone number to mark your identity. If you refuse to provide it, we cannot create an account or provide financial services.

1.2 Account login

When you log in for the first time, we will send a verification code to verify your identity for legal compliance and account security.

1.3 User personal information authentication

We require identity authentication including name, ID number, date of birth, gender, marital status, education, work status, other loans, income, payday, address, phone, email, emergency contact, chat accounts, etc. We may verify with legal identity agencies. Without real-name authentication, you cannot use Beta Pesa services normally under Kenya’s financial law.

1.4 Filling contact information

Before providing emergency contacts, confirm you have their consent. We collect name, phone number, and relationship. We only contact emergency contacts in compliance with laws, such as fraud risk alerts.

1.5 Customer service and dispute resolution

We verify identity via phone number, name, ID number, and order info. We may retain call records for 30 days then delete automatically.

1.6 Loan and repayment processing

You need to provide bank card or mobile account info for borrowing/repayment. Refusal may block service use.

1.7 Products and information services

We may send product/ promotion info via app messages, SMS, or calls. You can opt out via customer service or notification settings without affecting basic functions.

1.8 Order management

System auto-generates orders. We collect loan info, emergency contacts, order data for transactions, settlement, inquiry, management, and security checks.

Collection: financial transaction SMS (content, sender, time) only for recent 3 months at borrowing.

Use: credit risk & anti-fraud analysis for limit/rate. Refusal means no risk/credit assessment.

Collection: name, ID, birthdate, gender, marital status, education, job, loans, income, payday, address, phone, email, emergency contact, social accounts.

Processing: desensitization & encryption.
